How to create an action plan?

How to create an action plan for your goals?

Do you have dreams, but don't know how to achieve them?

Do you have goals, but don't know where to start or what to do?

Creating an action plan is the key to achieving your goals and realizing your dreams.

Here are 4 easy steps of creating a plan and give you an example.

Step 1.  Dream.  Clearly know what you want and why.

Step 2.  Write it down, making them your goals.

Step 3.  Break them down into small steps, making the things you need to do to achieve them manageable.

Step 4.  Set specific deadlines and find a way to hold yourself accountable. Perhaps, sharing your goals with others.

Let’s say, my goal is to lose 30 lbs in 10 months, so that I can be healthy and look good at a family reunion.

I will write it down where I can see it everyday.

And, I will need to break down the goal.

30 lbs seems a lot, but if I break it down to monthly, I need to lose 3 lbs per month.

From there, I can break it down even further to weekly,

About 1 lb a week.  Seems realistic and achievable.

As I am breaking it down, I will list out what I need to do and the things I need to make it happen.

For example, I will need to have a workout plan and eating plan.

First, the workout plan.   To start out, I am going to walk 30 minutes a day for the first 2 weeks.

Starting week 3, I am going to walk 45 minutes a day.

I need to buy good walking shoes, and I'll schedule my walks first thing in the morning.  I want to get it out of the way before I get too busy, and I won't get discouraged or give up if I have to miss a day.

Next, the eating plan.  I am going to eat more fruits and vegetables, and cut out sugar and bad carbs.  I need to drink plenty of water.  The recommended amount of half my body weight in ounces.  I better set my alarm clock to keep on track.  I will weight first thing every morning, at the same time, to measure and track my success.
